RIM TO RIM (backdated - 10th to 13th Jul'07) - South Rim

Ok, here comes Part 2:

After hiking for about 2+days/2 nights, we finally reached our destination - South Rim.

Unlike North Rim, which is like a ulu ulu place, South Rim is like 'Holland V of Singapore' - to put it more aptly.

South Rim is very much bigger.. and alot more things to "see". But of cos, there's so much people there it feels like a urbanised place.

Anyhow, when we reached, we went to the campsite to "check-in" (reached about 1pm)

After settling down abit, set up tent, those who wanna bathe go bathe. Well, I went into the shower (5mins for 1.75USD), ehhhh... I bathe too long, no more water but I still had soap all over my body! Sheesh.. But at least i showered after 2-3 days of non-showering....

After nuahing abit, we had a sumptuous lunch, 以形补形.

We hit the giftshop after our meal... After that we went to catch the sunset at Yavapalai Point. You won't believe how many people is there! its like madness. SOOOOOO many people!

The night was spent at South Rim's campsite. The temperature dropped to 11 degrees C,and while I was holed up INTO my sleeping bag, the unbearable coldness of the night made it almost impossible to sleep! I keep checking my watch to see if it was time for day break..

As soon as it was time to wakie, we chiong to the cafe to have breakfast, and after that, walked around abit at South Rim (before we head back to North Rim)

RIM TO RIM (backdated - 10th to 13th Jul'07) - the HIKE

I went on a Rim to Rim (hiked North Rim to South Rim, 23.9Miles) on the 10th to 13th July. All is well and I am safe. This experience, is one I will remember for life, and a proud thing I have done in my entire life [besides graduating from University with 2nd Class Honors (Lower)]

Before starting, I pack! This is my backpack! Don't see small small...heavy one ok!

We started out at about 4-ish in the morning, and caught a bit of sunrise as we hiked -

Walked abit, then hungry already! So we had a mini picnic -
En Route, show the singaporean trait lah TAKE PICTURES! -

Hike hike jit su ku we reached the bridge! Take picture again lor! 这才是纯真的新加坡人嘛- 去到哪，拍到哪！！

Hike until tired= siesta. Taking a nap on the rocks, look at the Canyon, bust busk in its majesty... where to find sia? Only here then have!

Soon after, we reached our first campsite for the day(and night) - Cottonwood Campsite:

Afternoon, we went to Ribbon Falls to jim zhui for awhile -


After siesta at the waterfalls, we went back to the campsite to cook dinner - Let Chef Seow teach you how to do field cooking -

Day 2
We got up at 1ish am to start to day... cos no sun = easier to walk
En route, we had to cross a river -Never ending road...........................
Walkin' makes you sibei hungry one. Everytime must stop and eat one!

See I so CUTEEEEEE!!!!!!

Soon we see our next pit stop - Bright Angel Campsite!!

I'm so hungry I can eat the signboard!!

Colorado River is just a stone's throw away!

Soon it was time to eat again. And Chef Seow cooks again -


This is our campsite. A campsite into the Grand Canyon -Afternoon, we spend it at the creek -



My friend wants to shoot shampoo advertisements. LOL.


Likewise, we wake up at 1ish am to start trekking. Along the way, beautiful pictures ensues -

and finally, after aches after aches, the lust over Macdonalds motivate us to climb the steep mountain.......WE REACHED THE TOP!!
(Cue: "I'm on the top of the world looking.........")
